Dragula: Shudder & AMC+
The series is created and hosted by the Boulet Brothers, who challenge a different set of eleven drag artists from around the world to compete in an underground style drag competition each season. The artists compete for the chance to win a cash prize and the crown of “Dragula – the World’s Next Drag Supermonster”. The show celebrates underground and alternative drag art, and bases each episode’s challenges on the four principles of the show “Drag”, “Filth”, “Horror” and “Glamour”.
Evil: Paramount+
A skeptical clinical psychologist joins a priest-in-training and a blue collar contractor as they investigate supposed abnormal events, including, demonic possession, and other extraordinary occurrences to see if there’s a scientific explanation or if something truly supernatural’s at work.
GyeongSeong Creature: Netflix
Set in 1945, during the occupation of Gyeongseong (the old name for Seoul) by the Imperial Japanese Army, the story depicts the brutality inflicted on civilians by the Japanese forces, subjecting men and women to secret biological experiments, the rebels who rise against them, and the monster creature produced from human experimentation. The first season was released on Netflix from December 22, 2023, to January 5, 2024. The second season is set for release in 2024.
Crazy Fun Park: Hulu
Chester and his best friend Mapplethorpe are an inseparable duo until they get into a fight, and Mapplethorpe dies at a run down theme park. Crazy Fun Park is an abandoned roller coaster park, once meant to bring joy and happiness but has only brought death since its founding, and is rumoured to have ghosts who roam the premises at night but are unable to leave. Chester is forlorn; until he realizes his old friend – as well as many others who met tragic fates some years ago – are a lot less dead than they seem…
Late Night with the Devil: Shudder & AMC+
A “found footage” film investigating an unexplained event that occurred on the night of Halloween 1977, during the live broadcast of an episode of the variety late-night talk show Night Owls with Jack Delroy.
After his wife Madeleine dies of cancer, Night Owls halts its production. Jack ultimately returns and, in order to boost the show’s low ratings, does a special occult-themed episode on Halloween. Special include self-proclaimed psychic and medium Christou, skeptic and former magician Carmichael Haig, parapsychologist author June Ross-Mitchell, and June’s latest subject, a 14-year-old Lilly D’Abo who is purportedly possessed by a demonic spirit.
Talk to Me: Netflix
Mia is struggling with the second anniversary of her mother Rhea’s suicide by sleeping pill overdose and her distant relationship with her father, Max. Mia, her best friend Jade, and Jade’s little brother Riley sneak out to a gathering hosted by Hayley and Joss, where the main attraction is a severed and embalmed hand. Holding the hand and saying “Talk to me” enables someone to communicate with a deceased person’s spirit, while saying “I let you in” allows the spirit to possess them. To prevent spirits from binding themselves to that person, someone else must end the possession before 90 seconds by pulling away the embalmed hand and blowing out a candle to cut the connection. Mia volunteers to go first and is possessed by a spirit that displays a menacing focus on Riley. Joss and Hayley struggle to break the connection, and the time limit is slightly exceeded.
Under Paris: Netflix
Marine Biologist Sophia Assalas and her team search for Lilith, a tagged shortfin mako shark. Her husband Chris leads a dive team of Sam, Juan and Tom, leaving Sophia and Jade onboard. The team first observe an unusual sight of makos hunting in a pack, before they locate Lilith, who has grown much larger since she was last sighted. With the shark appearing non-aggressive, Chris attempts to take a blood sample from Lilith, but the shark suddenly snaps and kills him, Sam, Juan and Tom. Leaving the safety of the boat, Sophia goes after Lilith, but becomes entangled in a net and dragged far beneath the surface as the shark escapes into the depths. She manages to free herself, but not before suffering injuries due to the severe change in pressure.
Three years later, Sophia works at an aquarium in Paris. Mika, an environmentalist, informs Sophia that Lilith’s tracking beacon is still active and that she has travelled from the Pacific and up the River Seine and is seemingly trapped in the city. After a man is found dead with wounds from shark bites, police diver Adil recruits Sophia to help find and kill the shark, but Mika and her girlfriend Ben turn off the beacon before they can do so in the hope that they can rescue her later.
Abigail: PeacockTV
In New York City, young ballet dancer Abigail is abducted by six criminals and taken to the secluded Wilhelm Manor. Before leaving, their leader Lambert instructs them to guard Abigail for 24 hours, at which point they will receive an equal share of a $50 million ransom paid by her father.
Though reluctant to continue with the plan as she was unaware the target was a child, Joey is tasked with managing Abigail. Joey is sympathetic to her, sharing that she has a son and promising to protect Abigail from harm. Abigail admits her father does not care about her and will not pay the ransom, before apologizing for what is going to happen to Joey. Perturbed by Abigail’s words, Frank violently confronts her, learning that her father is Kristof Lazaar, a powerful, almost mythical crime lord.
The group tries to leave but the home’s security system seals the property, preventing escape. The group confronts Abigail for information but she transforms into a vampire. Frank shoots Abigail but her injuries instantly heal and the group flees.

The Grimm Variations: Netflix
As implied by its title, the Netflix show takes inspiration from Brothers Grimm’s fairy tales; more importantly, the anime appears to retain the dark tone of the original narratives, rather than opting to tell sanitized and family-friendly versions found in, for example, Disney movies. That said, The Grimm Variations will be taking six classic tales and giving them fresh anime-style spins, resulting in episodes that share themes and basic plot beats with the stories but are not standard adaptations.
